Why I Alchemy: Andie Mahalich

Why I Alchemy
By: Andie Mahalich

I have been an athlete my whole life, participating in sports and playing on three varsity teams in high school. As soon as I stopped playing sports, I found that I didn?t really know how to stay in shape outside of my scheduled practice and games. Having to go to the gym and figure out not only how to use the equipment, but what to do to keep myself in shape was  terrifying.

Ultimately, this became one of many excuses I had for not working out or working on my health. This continued for a while and I finally got to the point where I wasn?t happy in my own skin. Not only was I not physically happy, but I was not mentally happy either. I could see it affecting my friendships, relationships, work and my day-to-day life. I wasn?t able to be the person I wanted to be because I was so distracted by the disappointment I had in myself, and I didn?t know how to get out of it.

I started taking classes at Alchemy through ClassPass and instantly knew that this was the type of workout, community and lifestyle I wanted and needed in my life. I love how Alchemy makes me feel. So much so, that I have managed to turn my old habits completely upside down and no longer make excuses. I travel weekly for work and more often than not, drive straight from the airport to the next A20 or I?ll do the workouts from my hotel room while I?m gone. The community, the coaches and the overall energy at Alchemy is contagious and inspiring. It makes me want to  #PYL  every damn day. No matter what.

Andie is an Alchemy Edina member tried and true. No matter how busy her life is, she?s pursuing her legend each and every day. Want to workout with her? Catch her crushing it at Alchemy Edina ? we bet she?ll be happy to share her unlimited July buddy passes with you!
